Man charged over Pattingham luxury house raid

A 21-year-old man was appearing in court today in connection with an armed robbery at the luxury home of a South Staffordshire businessman.

The man is accused of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

He was arrested in the Penn Fields area of Wolverhampton and charged overnight in connection with an armed raid at the luxury home of businessman Richard Barnfather.

The suspect was appearing at Telford Magistrates Court today. Raiders struck at Mr Barnfather's home in Lower Rudge, Pattingham, on March 9. Mr Barnfather, boss of Wednesbury-based firm Barnfather Wire, and his fiancée were robbed by three masked men.

Jewellery worth around £50,000 and three cars were stolen in the raid.

The cars were later abandoned.
