Up to 15 firefighters tackled a blaze caused by a faulty boiler at a bungalow in Wolverhampton today.
Crews were called to the blaze in Stockwell Road, Tettenhall, at about 7am after the couple living there had raised the alarm.
Wolverhampton Crew Commander Tony Bucknall said the fire was caused by a boiler in the kitchen and that flames had spread to the roof.
Firefighters from Wolverhampton and Fallings Park spent this morning removing roof tiles and clearing flammable items from the roof space.
No-one was hurt in the blaze.
