Police have seized cocaine with a street value of £1.4 million after smashing a suspected drug dealing operation in Stourbridge, it was revealed today.
Three shotguns were also found by officers as they raided a property in Dennis Hall Road, Amblecote. Four men were arrested nearby and taken in for questioning.
The operation was part of a crackdown on a drugs network believed to be dealing across the West Midlands region.
Officers today said they swooped on the address following concerns raised by members of the public.
A quantity of cocaine was recovered from the property along with the firearms last Thursday. The four arrested men were later charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and brought before magistrates in Wolverhampton on Saturday.
Two of the men, aged 25 and 26, are from Lye. The other two, both aged 41, are from Worcester.
All four were remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 25. Det Ch Insp Andy Parsons, crime manager for Dudley police, said: "The operation which led to these arrests was in direct response to community concerns regarding drug dealing in the Dudley borough.
"As always we take such reports extremely seriously and we'll investigate thoroughly." Insp Mick Palmer added: "Drug dealing has a devastating impact on communities because of the anti-social behaviour it attracts.
"Not only that, dealers prey on drug users and have no scruples about who they take money from.
"We want to assure communities that we will do all we can to drive those who deal drugs out so we can help make those communities safer."
Anyone with information regarding drug dealing in their neighbourhood should call Dudley police on 101.
