After battling weight problems for years, Jo Palmer knew she had to take drastic action when she ballooned to 25st 3lbs.

So she swapped diets with a woman less than a third of her weight for an experiment – and the mother of three is reaping the rewards.

The 27-year-old of Maycroft Close, Hednesford, will be seen on Channel 4's Supersize vs Superskinny where she exchanges her diet of pork pies, chocolate and crisps with 7st 10lbs' Emma Hughes' usual meals of cereal and homemade soups.

She was given a follow-up action plan by a nutritionist and after eight weeks, now weighs 22st 11lbs and has vowed to keep it up and lose eight stone. Jo, who is married to

Andy, aged 40, a depot manager, and has three sons, Selby, aged seven, Travis, five, and Archie, aged one, said: "Before the show I was anything from a size 30 upwards. Now I'm a 28.

"I use to use the children as an excuse to eat.. Dinner always use to be a rushed job. We would have take-aways, pizza or chips.

"I applied for the show and never actually thought I would get through. But they sent me an application form and I got through."

The fifth series will start tonight at 8pm.
