The family of a man who was killed when he was knocked off his moped by a lorry driver have appealed for information.

Benjamin Warrington's family have urged the HGV driver to come forward, saying they have been left devastated by his death.

His father Keith Warrington, 55, – who was joined by wife Hilary, 53, and their other children Sophy, 19, and Thomas, 20 – said that when Benjamin was killed, he was on his way to his new job.

He said: "He was excited to have recently secured full-time employment at the Tesco distribution centre in Fradley. On the day of the incident, he was on his way to start his first day shift."

The 24-year-old was confirmed dead at the scene of the collision, on the northbound stretch of the A38, near the Streethay slip road, on Tuesday at 5.25am.

He lived with his girlfriend Charlotte Pearsall, in Agincourt Road, Lichfield.
