A third man has been arrested in connection with gang-related shootings in Wolverhampton.

The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of firearm offences in the early hours of Saturday in Walsall and later released on police bail.

He was questioned in connection with three shootings within a 24-hour period last week, as tensions between rival gangs in the city spiralled.

Shots were fired in Showell Road, Low Hill on Thursday afternoon after two earlier shootings in Monsal Avenue, Park Village, and Graisdale Gardens, Whitmore Reans.

Two men, both aged 18, have been released on police bail. The only victim of the shootings, a 23-year-old man who received a bullet wound to the leg, has been released from hospital.
