A host of events including concerts and street parties will take place in Lichfield to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, it has been announced.

A Jubilee Proms Concert will take place at Lichfield Cathedral on June 16, a street party will be held at The National Forest Adventure Farm on June 5, while there will also be a lunch at the cathedral on June 3 and a garden picnic at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum on June 2.

The Shugborough Estate will be hosting a "Jubilee Week" between June 2 and 10.

Louise Flowith, Lichfield Council's tourism boss, said: "We're delighted that a wide range of events to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee are taking place across Lichfield, many of which are still in the early planning stages.

"We know that many parish councils and other local organisations have lots of plans in preparation, and we would advise residents to look out for information."
