The 85-year-old, from Pendeford, was taken to New Cross Hospital with severe head injuries but died in the early hours of today.

Blaydon Road in Pendeford was closed off between Oxley Moor Road and Whitburn Close following the accident in Emsworth Crescent, at around 5.15pm yesterday.

The road was shut until midnight. West Midlands Police say a 27-year-old woman driving a silver Vauxhall Astra had been spoken to but not arrested.
