A travel agency had to close for two days after metal thieves caused a flood when they stole copper piping worth just £6.
Around the same time an empty property was flooded when metal was stolen from the roof.
A flat above Going Places in Coventry Street, Kidderminster, was targeted, causing water to cascade down two floors and out into the street. The thieves took just £6 worth of copper piping on Tuesday night. The shop reopened yesterday.
The alarm was raised when a neighbour saw water pouring from a pipe in the roof into a first floor flat and the ground floor Going Places travel agents. In another incident in the town an empty building in Worcester Street was targeted.
Thieves forced entry possibly via the roof and removed a large amount of lead from the roof and a small amount of copper piping from inside, flooding the premises.
