Bewdley road shut after man hit by car

A man was taken to hospital with leg injuries after being knocked down by a car in Bewdley today.
The 47-year-old pedestrian was struck by a black Peugeot 307 on the A456 Kidderminster to Bewdley Road, near West Midland Safari Park.
Paramedics were called to the scene at around 5.50am today and the road was closed by police while they treated the injured man.
West Mercia Police spokeswoman Lynne Masters said the man was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester for further treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be serious. The road was closed following the incident until around 9.15am.
