A woman stabbed to death at a house in Wolverhampton was today named as Shadi Afraziyan.
A woman stabbed to death at a house in Wolverhampton was today named as Shadi Afraziyan.
The 36-year-old was stabbed 18 times in the chest and stomach at a flat in Newhampton Road West, Whitmore Reans, on Thursday.
Her 39-year-old partner, who was also injured at the flat, is being guarded by police at New Cross Hospital while they wait to talk to him. He was fighting for his life but is now stable.
Officers are also waiting to speak to their 12-year-old son, who was in the flat at the time.
Police and paramedics were called to the flat at around 7.45am when the couple's son raised the alarm.
Officers quickly cordoned off the flat, near Gibbs Street and Coleman Street, as part of their investigation. Neighbours said they believed the family are of Iranian origin.
Detectives said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
