Britain's Got Talent star Jean Martyn proved she hasn't forgotten her roots despite fame and success when she took to the stage in front of a home crowd.

The 60-year-old performed a New Year's Day concert in Brewood, South Staffordshire.

The organist staged a Viennese gala concert featuring the work of Austrian composer Johann Strauss.

More than 100 people flocked to see the star perform at the Jubilee Hall.

Jean, who has been a church organist for 11 years, has been in high demand across the country since making it to the final of TV talent show Britain's Got Talent. The past two months has also seen her switch on the Christmas lights in Brewood and in Cannock where she worked as a music teacher.

She also released her first album, Just Jean, in 2011.

She said: "There are lots of people in Brewood who do not want to travel far on New Year's Day and this was a nice event to entertain them and get people swaying about in their seats.

"I usually do an annual Christmas concert but I decided rather than that I would do one for New Year."
