A ward treating stroke patients at Walsall Manor Hospital which was closed due to an outbreak of winter sickness bug norovirus has reopened.
Health bosses have been fighting to stop the spread of the highly contagious illness, which causes vomiting and diarrhoea.
There have been three confirmed cases on ward one. It was closed to patient admissions, transfers and friends and relatives on Wednesday and reopened on New Year's Eve.
Many of the patients on the affected ward have suffered strokes or other brain injuries.
Angie Wallace, on-call director for Walsall Manor Hospital, said: "The ward has now reopened but we are asking visitors to be cautious and use the hygiene resources available."
