Black Country humour will be top of the bill as a theatre group embarks on one of its biggest comedy tours to date.

Fizzog Theatre Company, based in Quarry Bank, will be staging The 50 per cent Funnier Comedy Tour at a host of Midlands venues in February.

New sketches taking a wry look at life in the Black Country have been written by group founders Sue Hawkins, Jacky Fellows and Deb Nicholls.

The shows, which start on February 9 at the Bridgnorth Theatre on the Steps, will also feature Phoenix Nights star Janice Connolly as her alter-ego Barbara Nice.

Deb Nicholls saysthe show will see the return of some of their popular characters.

Other dates booked are at Netherton Arts Centre on February 10 and 17, Birmingham Old Rep theatre on February 17 and Wolverhampton's Newhampton Arts Centre on February 24 and 25. Tickets are £15 and shows start at 7.30pm. Call 01384 816280.
