A new buffet, shop and toilets could be built at Bridgnorth's Severn Valley Railway as part of a master plan for the site.

But funding for the proposals will depend on a share issue due to be launched by bosses in September next year.

A viewing gallery for the public to see the maintenance and overhaul of locomotives could also be created.

The buffet building at the Bridgnorth station was supposed to be temporary when it was installed about 30 years ago and is in need of replacement.

David Wilcock, SVR spokesman, said: "It is long overdue for renewal. We recognise the buffet, shop and toilet facilities need modernising."

He said: "Nothing is going to happen until the share issue is launched. The share issue funds these projects."
