Nineteen boxes of trainers suspected of being stolen during the summer riots were recovered from a house in Wolverhampton today.

Designer shirts also believed to have been taken during the disorder were also seized by police in a raid at the home of a suspected looter.

A 15-year-old boy at the home of where the items were recovered, in Dickens Road, The Scotlands, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and violent disorder when officers pounced on his address today.

The raid at his home was part of a morning of action targeting yet more suspects believed to have involved themselves in widespread looting in Birmingham and Wolverhampton in August.

Acting Detective Inspector Julie Woods said: "We want people to be assured that we have not scaled down our operation." So far more than 700 people have been arrested over the riots, 163 of those have been charged and dealt with by the courts.

The youth was taken to a police station in Birmingham for questioning.
