Six men were arrested after two metal thefts in Sandwell on the same night.

A police helicopter was used early yesterday following reports that a group of men were loading a van with scrap metal from a yard near Tat Bank Road, Langley. Five men were arrested.

Officers are also investigating lead theft from a house in Petford Street, Cradley Heath, at 4am yesterday. A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft.
