A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Staffordshire.
A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Staffordshire.
The woman, who is 53, was struck in Windmill Lane, Gentleshaw, near Burntwood, by a burgundy Ford Focus.
An air ambulance, from Cosford, was called to the scene and paramedics gave the woman treatment for a serious head injury before she was taken, via helicopter, to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma Unit for further emergency treatment.
The driver, a 64-year-old local man, was uninjured.
The road remained closed for around two hours, between the Common Side junction and the Shaw Lane exit.
Witnesses to the collision, which happened yesterday at 9.50am, are asked to contact the officer in the case, Pc Kelly Bufton, on 101.
