A compressed air cylinder is believed to have exploded at Filtration Service Enginerring, at the Oldington trading estate.
The badly injured man, aged in his 40s, suffered multiple injuries to his arms and legs, including fractures, when the blast happened just before midday yesterday.
He was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The three others had minor injuries and were taken to Kidderminster Hospital.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called and the area was sealed off. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating. An ambulance service spokeswoman said: "On arrival, crews found four people who had been injured after a compressed air canister had reportedly exploded."
