An historic brewery is once again producing beer after lying dormant for two decades.

Part of Springfield Brewery in Wolverhampton has been leased by Andy and Michelle Brough, who are selling their tipples to landlords in the city.

The brewery off Cannock Road was built back in 1873 but closed down in 1991 after being completely destroyed in a major fire in 2004.

But the site is now alive again with the buzz of brewing, with Mr and Mrs Brough initially producing a pale ale and bitter.

The couple, of Staveley Road, Whitmore Reans, said the beers were already being sold at the Hogshead in Stafford Street in the city centre and at Wolverhampton Rugby Club.
