Three Wise Men today kicked off a two-day countdown for a mystery millionaire from Staffordshire to claim their EuroMillions prize winnings.

Time is rapidly running out for a ticket holder to come forward for their life-changing £1million prize.

The seven-figure bounty has been sitting in EuroMillions coffers for 178 days without the unknown winner revealing themselves.

The ticket was bought in Cannock Chase and lottery bosses have launched a last-ditch bid to find the winner before the deadline passes at 3pm on Sunday. Cannock Chase District

Council chairman Councillor John Beddows, Staffordshire town crier Peter Taunton and Wheaton Aston lottery winner Tom Naylor helped with the publicity drive.

The Cannock Chase-bought ticket, with the EuroMillions Millionaire raffle selection MWC424302, is the winner.

Lorry driver Tom and wife Rita, who were originally from Darlaston, scooped £15 million in November 2001.
