Burlesque basques, top hats and all-out glamour was the dress code as party-goers flocked to an indulgent night out in Wolverhampton which was anything but ordinary.

Extravagant excess was the order of the evening at the Mount Hotel in Tettenhall Wood, a fitting venue for the elaborate affair marketed as a brave new world for the city's nightlife.

Inside, the glitz and glamour was something to behold. A Moulin Rouge-style boudoir, complete with red velvet thrones and decorative drapes, caught the eye and in the VIP disco lounge a glittering wall of lights resembled stars in the night sky.

The true stars of this spectacular Saturday night show, however, were the guests who embraced the cabaret theme to an extent that astounded even the event's organisers.

Many women opted for revealing outfits with stiletto heels, stockings, suspenders, hotpants and basques, like the performers who tottered from room to room prior to taking to the Grand Room stage.

Those who didn't went for their wedding wardrobe, donning fascinators and dresses fit for a friend's nuptials. The men either matched the marriage attire or wore sharp suits.
