Halesowen Cemetery and the adjacent grounds of St John the Baptist Church in the town centre were cordoned off by police for most of Saturday while forensics teams examined the scene, using search sticks to try and turn up evidence.

The victim was found in a flat in just metres away from the cemetery in Stourbridge Road, Halesowen, between the junctions with Hales Road and Islington at around 8.30am on Saturday.

Police are investigating reports that he was attacked in the graveyard of St John the Baptist Church and made his way to the flat. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance.
