Man is killed at his Dudley home

A murder investigation was under way today following the death of a 47-year-old man at his home in Dudley.

Kevin Jones was pronounced dead at the scene in Woodside and his 74-year-old mother Jean Jones taken to hospital with leg injuries following the incident. A man has appeared in court charged with murder.

It was not clear today how Mr Jones was killed.

William Spence, aged 38, of Fullwood Crescent, Dudley, is accused of murdering Mr Jones and assaulting his mother at the Buxton Road house at around 10.10pm on Saturday.

He appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court where he was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday.
