Stourbridge Saxons will head to Rosslyn Park full of confidence after breaking their Stourton Park duck with last week's close defeat of fellow strugglers Wharfedale.

The win lifted Neil Mitchell's outfit off the foot of the table and eased the pressure which had been mounting after a run of just one victory in nine games.

The Saxons director of rugby, ahead of Saturday's trip, admitted: "The win was sweet but that's only the start. The season starts here.

"We now have two bus journeys away – what I would term proper team days – to Rosslyn Park and Sedgley Park and we will go to those with some confidence and with a little bit of a buffer now that we are off the bottom.

"I like away games and the impetus now is that we throw everything at these next two. There won't be the pressure because of that buffer."
