Burglars hunting for precious Asian gold have ransacked six houses across Walsall in the past three months, escaping with jewellery worth £130,000.

Homes in upmarket areas have been targeted, with one family in Park Hall losing £70,000 of gold in a single raid.

Families in Aldridge, Highgate, Willenhall and Delves have also been preyed upon. Police are now investigating the crimes and any links between them.

The last burglary in Walsall was on September 29, when £8,000 of gold was stolen from an empty house in Park Hall. Another empty home in Park Hall was targeted on September 1, when £70,000 of gold was taken.

Asian gold has also been the target in a number of street robberies. West Midlands Police will hold a crime prevention session on November 11 at 1pm at Aisha Mosque in Caldmore.
