One historic era ends tomorrow as another one begins for your Express & Star.
One historic era ends tomorrow as another one begins for your Express & Star.
From Monday, every page in the newspaper will be printed in high-quality full colour using the latest digital technology.
The paper will continue to be produced from the biggest regional newsroom in Britain right in the heart of the Black Country at Queen Street in Wolverhampton, our home for more than 100 years.
More than 100 journalists will operate out of our state-of-the-art news hub, spearheading teams of reporters all over the region in your community.
Experienced journalist Victoria Nash, from Wolverhampton, leads a team of local reporters from our head office, including Local Government Editor Daniel Wainwright, Health Correspondent Shaun Lintern and Crime Reporter Shaun Jepson.
In the Dudley borough, Express & Star writers operate from our office in Market Street, Stourbridge, where Helen Cartwright is Chief Reporter.
In addition, experienced Lee Watton covers the Kidderminster patch, from an office in Oxford Street in the town centre.
In Walsall, Chief Reporter Elizabeth Joyce and deputy Catherine Dalton, who both hail from Willenhall, head a team steeped in local knowledge, backed by long-serving award-winning photographer Tim Sturgess.
Over in Sandwell, another local girl Lisa Wright is Chief Reporter, leading a team operating from our Regional Centre at Black Lake.
In Staffordshire, veteran reporter John Corser is chief of a dedicated group covering Cannock, Lichfield and Stafford. Our offices are right in the heart of the county town in Bridge Street and also easily accessible is our Mid Staffordshire Regional Centre in Queen Square, Cannock.
From Monday, all the Express & Star's editions will be printed in Ketley, Telford, just 20 minutes from the Black Country.
Our state-of-the-art presses will deliver full colour to every page of your paper six nights a week.
The Express & Star has been printed in Wolverhampton for 122 years but editor Adrian Faber said today: "Readers and advertisers will see a great benefit from having a full colour newspaper from Monday.
"Our teams of reporters, photographers, sub-editors and advertising staff will still be in their local offices.
"And we are proud to have our head office in the very heart of Wolverhampton, which despite all its challenges, is still a great place to live and work."
