A village restaurant has been voted the best in Staffordshire for its top traditional English fare. It was one of three accolades for The Moat House in Acton Trussell.

A village restaurant has been voted the best in Staffordshire for its top traditional English fare. It was one of three accolades for The Moat House in Acton Trussell.

It won Restaurant of The Year in the Taste of Staffordshire Good Food awards.The Dog and Doublet in Sandon and the Swan Hotel in Stafford town centre, owned by Moat House proprietor Chris Lewis, also picked up awards.

Food and drink businesses across Staffordshire were among the winners at a gala ceremony at the Staffordshire County showground.

The event celebrates excellence and the use of local produce in the county's food and drinks industry. It was the latest in a string of awards for the Moat House, a 14th century manor house in Lower Penkridge Road.
