With floppy ears, curly tails, stumpy legs, funny expressions and soulful eyes, Midland dogs are giving pretty pooches across the world a run for their money.

Proud owners across the region have been clamouring to show off their favourite snaps ever since the Express & Star featured the Teddy bear-like Pomeranian dog Boo, who has become an internet sensation with his button eyes and white and ginger fur.

Scruffy Jack Russell-Yorkshire terrier cross Charlie Jarvis, at 14 months old, was adopted by Sue and Jack Jarvis in May from Wild Acre Rescue Centre in Cradley Heath.

"With his big ears, curly 'pigs' tail, long stick legs and a coat that looks like its has had highlights he is unique, everyone that meets him tells us how cute he is," said Mrs Jarvis, of Wychbury Road, Wolverhampton.

"In the five months that we have had him he has blossomed and we think he is a cuter than cute dog."

Alex Simpson, 18, of Copper Beech Drive, Wombourne, thinks her two-year-old bichon frise-King Charles cavalier spaniel cross Bella is the cutest of all. "I have had Bella since she was a puppy," she said. "I think her eyes, her face and her coat make her cute as well as the way she behaves – just her general nature, she is so cheeky and naughty but gets away with everything."

Naughty puppy Isa relies on her looks to get her out of trouble. The seven month old Bermese mountain dog arrived at her new home in Beaumaris Close, Dudley, at the age of just nine weeks and according to owner Vickie Fellows, she eats almost everything in her path.

"She eats anything that isn't nailed down - including a sock which resulted in a visit to the vets - but she only has to look at you with that face and you forgive her anything," she said.

Carol Finlan from Dudley also sent in a picture of her two-year-old Shitzu called Kash.
