A Midlands chef who carves celebrity faces into watermelons has left his job to focus on his dream.

David Loh, aged 52, has quit The Indian Dragon, in Hednesford, to give him more time to spend creating his unusual art.

The 52-year-old from Birmingham, who goes by the alias of "The Melon Man", wants to make a name for himself across the globe.

He has plans to produce a book and he is lobbying the Olympic 2012 organisers to be involved with the festivities next summer.

David started carving at 16 and spends every spare moment perfecting his art.
