Horse owners are set to take to the streets of Tipton for a second time in protest against a council crackdown on roaming horses.

Scores of people are expected to be in the town on Friday to show their anger against Sandwell Council-employed bailiffs who are removing stray horses from public land.

The council says it is cracking down on the horses in a bid for safety.

But horse owners have defended the tradition and are set to protest against the council by staging a 'horse drive'.

Protesters are set to meet at the land at the back of Hawthorn Road in Tipton at 1pm, before going past Sandwell Councillor Derek Rowley's home and then along to

Sandwell Council house on Freeth Street in Oldbury where they will present a 100-strong petition to the council.

Councillor Rowley, who is cabinet member for safer neighbourhoods, said their protest would not change the council's decision.
