The six-year-old stallion, named Pickels, found himself in a bit of a pickle after getting stuck down the 10ft deep silage pit.
He is believed to have spent the night trapped before being rescued yesterday morning.
Specialist technical rescue teams had to be called to Druids Heath Farm, in Stonnall Road, Aldridge just before 9am to carry out the rescue.
Five metre slings were attached to the underside and the chest of Pickels, while he was winched to safety using a forklift truck belonging to a farmer.
