New gargoyles have been created and others repaired as part of a restoration project at the city centre catedral. And this term schools from across the diocese can win the chance to adopt one of the gargoyles.
Youngsters can either give a recently carved gargoyle a name, write a story, draw a cartoon strip or pen a dramatic poem about a gargoyle adventure.
Launched yesterday, the scheme has been tailored to meet the needs of the curriculum and is open to schools within the 427 parishes of the Lichfield Diocese.
The deadline for competition entries is January 15. For more information about the Adopt a Gargoyle competition, contact Judith Ayton on 01543 306106 or email at judith.ayton@lichfield-cathedral.org
