Moving a replica of the Titanic anchor just a couple of miles from the Black Country Living Museum to the town where the original was built will cost the council £22,000, it has been revealed.

Celebrations were being held in Netherton today to mark the 16-ton, 18-ft long anchor's return.

Dudley Council says the five-figure bill covers the cost of transporting and installing the model in the old market place near Netherton Arts Centre.

The authority had already paid out £20,000 towards the £40,000 bill for producing the replica, which was made for a programme by Twenty Television and screened on Channel Four last year. The remainder of the costs were covered by the production company.
