A crack team is expected to be set up within days to tackle flooding, including repeated problems with the River Severn bursting its banks in Bewdley.

Wyre Forest District Council will cast the deciding vote under plans to create the taskforce, teaming up with Redditch borough and Bromsgrove district authorities which have already announced their backing. The Wyre Forest cabinet will rule on establishing a shared service to tackle land drainage, watercourses and flooding across the three areas.

The verdict will be delivered at a meeting on September 20.
