She started off playing in church halls but now Jean Martyn – who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent – is getting ready to perform one of her biggest shows in Wolverhampton.
The 60-year-old has announced she will be performing a two-hour show in front of thousands of fans at the Civic Hall on October 22.
The BGT finalist, from Brewood, won over audiences earlier this year with her lively and energetic performances on the keyboard and organ.
She will perform from 2pm until 4pm and will be playing a range of music on her famous electric organ, which featured on television, as well as the civic's huge Compton organ and a grand piano. Jean, who finished tenth overall in the show, has already performed at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena in June on the UK-wide Britain's Got Talent tour.
The former music teacher has performed at the civic before but only on the theatre organ as part of a smaller concert.
She said: "This is a big one. This will be a step up. I hope the whole of Wolverhampton comes out to have a look.
"When I come to Wolverhampton I love it, it's like coming home.
"The music I am going to be playing is quite different to what I normally do at the Civic Hall. People will be able to see the real Jean Martyn." Although she places huge importance on her local fans Jean said she wasn't phased about performing to other Midlands fans.
"I don't mind who I am performing in front of and it is just so lovely that they have all come out to see me," she said.
Her partner and manager Bob Ware said: "She is a local girl and she is delighted to be coming back to a venue she knows so well.
"It is always the pinnacle to come back to your home town and be able to perform in front of what will hopefully be a large number of people."
Tickets are on sale now at £5 and enquiries can be made through Midlands Box Office on 0870 320 7000.
Lovers of organ music can also enjoy a concert at the Civic Hall by Sedgley-based musician Brian Sharp next Saturday from 2pm-4pm.
