Delight for sisters who shared wedding dress

Sisters who shared their wedding dress and were married exactly one month apart in the same church are celebrating their diamond anniversaries.
Ida Lowbridge and her sister Iris Bird both married at Holy Trinity Church, Heath Town, Wolverhampton, in 1951, and are now celebrating 60 years of wedded bliss together.
The sisters have always been close and as well as sharing many of the same interests, they also shared the same dress size. Mrs Lowbridge said:?"We wore the same dress because my mother couldn't afford to buy two."
"We bought the material by collecting coupons and we had the same bridesmaids dresses and wedding dress, and she was my bridesmaid and I was hers."
The pair wore a pure white satin and lace dress, which had long sleeves and a stand-up collar, and a long veil.
