An entrepreneur from South Staffordshire is hoping to take the UK by storm with his invention after winning a £50,000 investment on the hit BBC show Dragons' Den.

Father-of-two Bob Davies, from Trysull, was shown on the screen trying to convince Duncan Bannatyne, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis and Hilary Devey to invest in his interactive game, Bob's Box, AKA the Cyclone Game Cube.

On last night's show, Mr Davies walked up the famous steps to the den and pitched wearing a tuxedo suit. Following his confident pitch, Staffordshire businesswoman Hilary had a go of Mr Davies' game and was clearly impressed.

Mr Jones declared himself out after expressing concerns that the game was to become part of a new firm and not Mr Davies' existing business. Mrs Meaden and Mr Paphitis declared themselves out after explaining they did not believe the product was "unique".

It was Mr Bannatyne that threw Mr Davies a lifeline, telling him to re-pitch his idea but by offering an investment in his current business. After doing so, Miss Devey quizzed

Mr Jones, who told her one box could generate up to £2,500 a week income. She then made Mr Davies an offer of £50,000 for a 20 per cent stake. That deal was accepted by Mr Davies after Mr Bannatyne declared himself out. Miss Devey said: "I know the other dragons are going to think I've lost my marbles, but I loved being in the box and I like the concept of it."

Once the product is launched and is creating a revenue, Miss Devey will reduce her stake in the business to 15 per cent.

Viewers watched last night as 54-year-old Mr Davies, who is a former DJ at Wolverhampton-based Beacon Radio, demonstrated his game, which sees participants get into a box to see how many of the correct coloured balls they can grab from the air in a specified timescale.

Since the show was filmed in May, Mr Davies, who owns Trysull-based Unique Ideas, has met with directors from Miss Devey's logistics firm, Pall-Ex to discuss how to take his business forward.
