Scores of bikers accompanied a Harley Davidson hearse as a tribute to a popular Staffordshire biker.

Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country turned out in tribute to Stephen Heywood, from Stafford, who died on July 23 after suffering a stroke.

Family and friends made sure Stephen's beloved Kawasaki VN 800 was included in the procession which left from the family home.

Stafford funeral directors Emery and Sons arranged for the special Harley Davidson hearse, with Stephen's coffin carried in the side car.

The Stafford Crematorium service took place yesterday with people encouraged to make donations to the Stroke Association and the Pyrenean Mountain Dog Welfare charity.

Stephen, of Lilleshall Way, Western Downs, had helped to form the Oxleathers Motorcycle Club in January at his local pub The Oxleathers in Sundown Drive.
