A boy and a girl, both aged seven, were among six people injured in the smash at junction three of the M54, near Cosford.
The youngsters, who suffered serious injuries, were taken in two helicopters to Birmingham Children's Hospital following the crash, which saw a lorry strike the central reservation and closed three lanes of the M54 for more than 12 hours.
A third child was also taken to hospital with less serious injuries along with three adults suffering spinal pain.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
