Families from across the Black Country have had their say on plans to replace the historic lido at Walsall Arboretum.
Families from across the Black Country have had their say on plans to replace the historic lido at Walsall Arboretum.
The popular pool, which dates back more than 50 years, will be replaced with interactive water jets in a £175,000 scheme.
The paddling pool is being axed after council chiefs said it was in need of costly repairs and was "not the most hygienic".
But with the sun shining over the weekend, families headed to cool off in the water, with plans for the new jets getting a mixed response.
Mother Emma Bennett looked on from the poolside as her children Eve, aged seven, Leah, six, and Daniel, three, splashed around in the paddling pool.
The 34-year-old, of Gleaneagles Drive in Great Barr, said: "It's a shame to see it go as the kids have really enjoyed themselves here today.
"They've loved chasing each other around and splashing each other, it's been fun.
"Saying that, we came across some of the water jets on holiday and the kids love those too so they might not be too bad."
