A new shop will come to Cannock town centre next month, creating around 35 new jobs, it was revealed today.

The 99p Stores, will take over the vacant unit 15 inside Cannock Shopping Centre which has been left empty since the lease ran out at the home furnishing shop QF earlier this month.

Shoppers will be able to visit the new store when it opens on August 6.

Positions are being offered in a range of roles, from customer assistants to stock replenishment officers.

Hussein Lalani, who heads 99p Stores nationwide, said: "We have gone from one-man band to national brand in just over a decade."

Mr Lalani said the new Cannock store coincides with the creation of its 2,000th new job in the Midlands and he claims more than 1.5million people in the country visit the stores every week.

He added: "We researched a lot of new areas and Cannock came out ahead of a lot of other regions because we have discovered Cannock people know a bargain when they see one."
