Amongst the beauties bidding for the title was Miss Staffordshire, Natalie James, aged 22, from Handsacre.

She was competing alongside Miss Birmingham Natalie Cutler, aged 21 from Rowley Regis, who was in the final five and Miss Black Country Roshni Pink, aged 21 from Claregate, Wolverhampton.

The 58 girls from across the country had already endured fierce competition in the heats and a semi-final stage to make it to the grand final.

The evening kicked off with the girls strutting down the catwalk dressed in matching white and red Made in England dresses designed by Karen Karmody before coming back in their own choice of evening wear.

Miss Pink wore a gown with a diamanté strap over one shoulder, while Miss James opted for a gown with a diamanté-covered bodice and Miss Cutler chose a pure white one shouldered dress with a diamante strap.

Miss Cutler, a former Heathfields School pupil said was delighted to be chosen as a final five contestant.
