Willenhall Leisure Centre will go on the market by the end of this week, it emerged today.

Interested parties will have a deadline of August 5 to make a move on the under-threat building. They will then have 21 weeks to secure planning permission if required.

Development documents, which reveal the site could be redeveloped as a cinema, offices, health clinic, creche or even back to its original use, are currently being looked over by councillors and residents as part of a consultation exercise.

Walsall's regeneration boss Councillor Adrian Andrew said the centre will then go on the market at the end of this week.

"After that, people will have a deadline of August 5 to express an interest in taking it on," he said. "Then we'll see where we stand."
