With the cladding now up and its striking glass-fronted panels starting to take shape, the iconic new Bilston Leisure Centre is already leaving its neighbours in the shade.

Work is ploughing forward with the creation of the new £15 million leisure centre – the first phase of the £200 million urban village development that will mark the dawn of a new era in the town.

The centre has already become one of the town's most recognisable landmarks.

It will boast an eight-lane, 25m swimming pool, a learner pool, health and fitness suite, four squash courts, a sports hall, cafe and meeting room once it opens and will create 33 new jobs.

The new 5,600 square metre centre will replace the existing one in Prouds Lane and will be named after Bradley-born Wolves footballing legend Bert Williams.
