Armed raiders struck as a security van was making a delivery to a bank in Penkridge at around noon today.

Eyewitnesses reported a masked man armed with a large knife ambushing a guard taking cash to the Barclays branch in Clay Street.

One claimed that around £25,000 had been stolen. A cash box was also left behind in Crown Bridge, which was taped off.
