Eight toilet blocks are to be closed in a Black Country borough as council bosses aim to save £150,000.

It emerged last month that authority chiefs are pressing ahead with proposals to close toilets in small shopping centres in Dudley.

Today they revealed which ones face the axe. The toilets which will close are outdated, often targeted by vandals and under-used, councillors say. The move will leave five toilet blocks in the town centres. Closure notices will go out next week and the conveniences will be shut from the following week.

Notices of closure will be going out shortly for the following toilet blocks:

* Flood Street, Dudley

* Halesowen Road, Netherton

* Castle Street, Coseley

* Bank Road, Lower Gornal

* Lawnswood Road, Wordsley

* The Cross, Kingswinford

* Enville Road, Wall Heath

* Cottage Street, Brierley Hill

There are five toilet blocks remaining in town centres at:

* Market Place, Dudley

* Fisher Street (bus station), Dudley

* Meriden Avenue, Wollaston

* Court Street, Stourbridge

* Townsend Avenue, Sedgley
