A group of 12 travellers' caravans has set up camp on historic Pelsall Common.

It is the latest arrival of travellers in Walsall, with caravans also in Rough Wood Country Park in Willenhall and Chester Road North, Brownhills.

Caravans began arriving at the site at around 10.30pm last night. There were seven mobile homes by midnight and 12 by this morning.

Pelsall councillors and residents were today outraged and said it was the first time they had seen travellers on the common opposite High Street.
