Volunteers in the Pelsall area of Walsall are awaiting approval for the village's first branch.
Aimed at helping the young and old with military links, it will be the first new branch in South Staffordshire for at least 15 years.
Previously village fundraisers supported the annual poppy collection organised by a branch based in nearby Aldridge.
Cannock branch disbanded in July after no one joined a committee to keep it running. Others in Codsall and Walsall are also closed.
