Detectives investigating the murder of pensioner Daisy Myring today warned her killer: "We will catch you." Underwater searches were carried out yesterday.
Following the searches in Staffordshire, officers say it is just a matter of time before they establish exactly what happened to the housebound 92-year-old, who was beaten to death in her Brownhills home.
The search of a fishing pool near Norton Canes proved fruitless, but today detectives were working on a new line of inquiry to trace a woman seen on CCTV in Brownhills post office at around 5pm on May 27.
Mrs Myring suffered a fatal blow to the head and was discovered by one of her carers at 7.10am last Tuesday. A 40-year-old man and two women aged 36 and 32, all from Norton Canes, have been arrested and bailed on suspicion of murder.
Police believe the victim knew her killer or killers and do not believe she was the victim of a botched burglary. Today Acting Det Ch Insp Wayne Jones said officers would be in the Norton Canes area today handing out leaflets.
He said: "We are going to get whoever has done this. We will get the answers as to what's happened and why this has happened."
